![]() These days I’m pretty buttoned up I don’t use any software except from well known sources. Do you sideload / jailbreak devices that have your LP vault? That’s a vector. Do you download pirated games and other software? That’s a vector. Only you can know how you’ve likely been compromised. Yubikeys are for authentication only and do not strengthen encryption, hackers got the vaults so yubikey adds no more security. There is almost zero chance that you can trace down exactly how this happened. Especially if from the URLs they can see you’re a whale. If you use zxcvbn and input a password that is similar to the one you used at the time of the lastpass hack (but not the same one, for obvious reasons, even though it’s a pretty trustworthy source), how strong is it?Īnything with crypto wallets in it is going to be high priority target. How many iterations on your vault at the time or breach? Since I have a Yubikey necesary for login, the only other thing I can think of is if my computer has a backdoor on it or my cell phone - but I see no evidence of that. Could this have happened from LastPass being hacked? I know they had a breach, but from what I heard, wasn't the hacker only able to gain encrypted data? Any reports of this happening to anyone else? I can't find any malware or virus on my computer. I really want to trace this so I can prevent this from happening in the future. I can't figure out how it could happen though? I really thought things were secure this way. ![]() They had access to two wallets on my smartphone which I had info on LastPass that would make restoring the wallet to someone with those wallets on their desktop/phone very easy, & they used a built in feature on one wallet to convert different crypto into BitCoin so they had to have got in by restoring my wallet or accessing my wallet from my phone w/ a backdoor it seems, I'm fairly sure this had to be Lastpass being hacked. The wallets are considered secure by experts- with hackers generally only being able to gain access to crypto if they have my private keys or mnemonics. I discovered that two crypto wallets I have on my phone got hacked, and I lost $50,000 of crypto that was transferred out to the hackers wallet. I store secure notes on there.important things, like SS#s for all family members w/ DOB, credit card numbers, but worst of all- a mnemonics to restore my crypto wallets on a new device. I use a Yubikey for 2fa to get into LastPass from my Desktop (although once I'm logged in, if someone has access to my computer via a backdoor, Lastpass is usually accessible from an open browser for a long time after I unlock it with my Yubikey). I've used LastPass for some time now- I have LastPass on my Windows 7 Desktop as well as my Samsung Galaxy smartphone.
